Ripple Expands Brevan Howard Partnership With New Crypto Prime Brokerage Services
Ripple is expanding its partnership with Brevan Howard through Ripple Prime, offering institutional clients access to crypto prime brokerage, clearing and financing services. The move strengthens Ripple’s position in institutional digital asset infrastructure and highlights the growing integration of cryptocurrency markets with traditional finance.

Ripple is expanding its relationship with global investment manager Brevan Howard, as its institutional platform Ripple Prime prepares to provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services to funds managed by the investment firm.
The expanded partnership, announced on October 6, 2026, highlights the growing connection between digital assets and traditional financial markets. It also strengthens Ripple’s push to build institutional-grade infrastructure for investors seeking access to multiple asset classes through a unified platform.
Ripple Prime Expands Institutional Crypto Services
Under the new agreement, Brevan Howard will gain access to Ripple Prime’s multi-asset prime brokerage services, covering brokerage, clearing and financing.
Rather than focusing only on cryptocurrency markets, Ripple Prime is designed to connect institutions with both digital assets and traditional financial products. Its platform supports markets including digital assets, foreign exchange, derivatives, fixed income and other institutional products.
This development comes as institutional investors increasingly look for infrastructure that can simplify trading, financing, collateral management and market access across different asset classes.
Brevan Howard Deepens Its Relationship With Ripple
The latest agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Funds affiliated with Brevan Howard participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment round in 2025, which valued Ripple at $40 billion at the time.
Brevan Howard manages around $35 billion in assets and has a dedicated digital asset division, BH Digital, focused on institutional opportunities across the crypto and blockchain ecosystem.
The expanded use of Ripple Prime therefore represents more than a standard crypto partnership. It reflects the broader movement toward integrating institutional crypto trading with traditional finance infrastructure.
Why Ripple Prime Matters for Institutional Investors
Ripple’s prime brokerage strategy has expanded significantly since the company acquired Hidden Road in 2025. The acquisition gave Ripple access to an established prime brokerage infrastructure covering areas such as clearing, financing, FX, digital assets, derivatives and fixed income.
Since then, Ripple Prime has continued adding institutional capabilities. In 2026, the platform expanded access to digital asset liquidity through its integration with EDX Markets and also introduced its Delta One business for exposure across U.S.-listed equities, indices and digital assets.
The company has also expanded its institutional financing capacity, including a $200 million debt facility announced earlier this year.
Digital Assets and Traditional Finance Move Closer
The Ripple-Brevan Howard agreement comes at a time when institutional crypto adoption is becoming increasingly focused on infrastructure rather than simply asset exposure.
For large investment managers, access to crypto markets involves more than buying or selling digital assets. Prime brokerage, clearing, financing, collateral management and risk controls can play an important role in building institutional trading strategies.
Ripple Prime’s multi-asset model aims to address these requirements through a single platform, potentially making it easier for institutions to manage exposure across crypto, FX, derivatives and traditional markets.
What This Means for Ripple and the Crypto Market
The expanded Brevan Howard relationship adds another institutional use case to Ripple’s growing financial infrastructure business.
It also reinforces Ripple’s strategy of positioning itself at the intersection of blockchain technology, digital assets and traditional finance. With Ripple Prime expanding beyond crypto-only services, the company is increasingly competing in a market where institutional investors are looking for regulated and scalable financial infrastructure.
The agreement does not represent a new announcement of Brevan Howard purchasing XRP or another specific digital asset. Instead, its importance lies in the expansion of institutional prime brokerage and financial-market infrastructure through Ripple Prime.
As institutional participation in digital assets continues to develop, partnerships involving major investment managers could become an important driver for the next phase of crypto market adoption.
